Крайно време е да отворим тема и за една от любимите авиокомпании на американците - JetBlue. Тези дни са боядисали самолет в нова специална ливерия, свързана с ваканции в Curacao:

Практически, това му е костюмът на самолета ли?

 "Ливерия" е използваната на български дума за окраската на самолета. Идва от livery - A livery /ˈlɪvəri/ is a uniform, insignia or symbol adorning, in a non-military context, a person, an object or a vehicle that denotes a relationship between the wearer of the livery and an individual or corporate body. В речника има и дума ливрея, което е горна дреха / унирофрма за лакеи, кочияши и други.

JetBlue ще добави Basic Economy fares, за да се конкурира с останалите а/к на пазара в САЩ. Засега обещават да няма ограничаване на услугите за клиентите, а само промяна в цените:

Да похваля JetBlue - тази седмица летях с тях 2 полета. На втория полет (излитащ след 10 вечерта) главният стюард отиде above and beyond в сървиса - беше си сложил списъка с пътниците на количката и се обръщаше към всеки един с Mr/Mrs и фамилно име - услуга, която обикновено намира място в бизнес и първа класа на някои а/к. Беше изключително любезен и усмихнат с всички, опитваше се да угоди на всеки с каквото може, въпреки късния час на полета... От много време не бях попадал на подобно ниво на предоставяната услуга.

Нов лого джет на отбор от Бостън:

 

 

JetBlue обяви официално днес, че ще започне да сервира продукти на Pepsi Co вместо продукти на  Coca-Cola на борда на своите самолети. Неофициално това се знаеше от вчера и в специализираните форуми вече има теми с по 3 страници оплакване от клиентите 🙂

JetBlue’s A321LRs used for transatlantic flights will feature a total of 24 herringbone business class suites. JetBlue has selected Thompson Aero’s VantageSolo seat, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise. JetBlue’s current Mint product is also from Thompson Aero, so this is a natural evolution, and I think it’s the product that many of us were expecting.

The new JetBlue Mint Suite will feature the following amenities:

• A 17″ Thales AVANT seatback screen, in addition to fast & free Wi-Fi
• Wireless charging capabilities
• An integrated phone ledge for multitasking
• Easy-to-reach in-seat power
• Laptop, shoe, and handbag stowage
• A Tuft & Needle proprietary foam and breathable cover “to create a cool and comfortable sleep experience unlike anything in the sky”

It’s also noted that the product has some new residential-inspired design touches throughout the cabin, including:

• Residential textures, such as flannel-covered privacy dividers, concrete lampshades, woodgrain table patterns, and vegan leather-covered seats and headrests
• Custom-created suite gradient panels, and patterned door shrouds with the signature Mint leaf
• Mood lighting and a blue floor arc that helps direct the customer boarding flow

The new JetBlue Mint Studio

JetBlue isn’t just introducing the new Mint Suite, but is also introducing the Mint Studio. Essentially the first row of the plane in this configuration has some extra space, so the airline will market this as a separate product.

Each plane will have two Mint Studios in the first row, providing some additional features, including:

 

 

• A 22″ Thales AVANT seatback screen
• An extra side table for added productivity
• A guest seat that can accommodate an additional Mint customer during the flight at cruising altitude

JetBlue claims that the Mint Studio will:

• Feature the most space in a premium experience from any US airline
• The largest lie-flat bed of any US carrier

We know that JetBlue will charge a premium for the Mint Studio compared to the Mint Suite, though we don’t yet know how much of a premium the airline will charge.

JetBlue has now secured London Heathrow slots

Airport Coordination Limited, which coordinates slots for London Heathrow Airport, has released an updated report on summer 2021 slots that have been awarded.

JetBlue has been awarded a total of 270 London Heathrow slots for the summer 2021 season. This includes:

• 180 slots being allocated for New York JFK service
• 90 slots being allocated for Boston service

Two slots are required per roundtrip (since each is for one takeoff or landing), and this is specific to the summer 2021 season, which goes through late October. To break this down further:

• As of August 2, 2021, JetBlue has been awarded 14 weekly slots
• As of September 13, 2021, JetBlue has been awarded an additional eight weekly slots, for a total of 22 weekly slots
• As of September 20, 2021, JetBlue has been awarded an additional six weekly slots, for a total of 28 weekly slots

In other words:

• As of August 2, 2021, JetBlue could fly daily between New York JFK and London Heathrow
• As of September 13, 2021, JetBlue could fly 4x weekly between Boston and London Heathrow, and daily as of September 20, 2021

JetBlue plans to operate out of Terminal 2 at London Heathrow.

JetBlue’s A321LR experience to London

JetBlue will fly Airbus A321LR aircraft across the Atlantic, which are the latest generation and longest range version of the Airbus A321 family of aircraft. These are pretty swanky planes, especially how JetBlue has configured them, as they’ll feature:

• 24 business class seats with direct aisle access and doors, including the all new Mint Suite and Mint Studio
• 114 economy seats, including 24 Even More Space seats, all of which feature power outlets and personal televisions; JetBlue has reimagined its economy service for transatlantic flights

The flight covers a distance of 3,643 miles, and is blocked at 7hr35min eastbound and 8hr25min westbound.

Then as of September 20, 2023, JetBlue will launch daily flights between Boston and Amsterdam with the following schedule:

B631 Boston to Amsterdam departing 8:00PM arriving 9:35AM (+1 day)
B632 Amsterdam to Boston departing 11:35AM arriving 2:00PM

The flight covers a distance of 3,457 miles, and is blocked at 7hr35min eastbound and 8hr25min westbound.

JetBlue plans to use Airbus A321LRs for both of these routes, which feature just 138 seats. This includes 24 Mint seats, spread across 12 rows in a 1-1 configuration.
