European Airports where the 2 Litre Rule already applies

Below is a list of airports that have officially confirmed the new 2-litre liquid allowance. If you’re flying from (or between) these airports, you can finally say goodbye to the 100ml limit!

 

🇮🇪 Ireland

Dublin (DUB) – Fully rolled out in both terminals. Passengers can bring up to 2L of liquids and don’t need to remove electronics.

 

🇬🇧 United Kingdom

Birmingham (BHX) – All security lanes upgraded; 2L rule in place.

 

Edinburgh (EDI) – The new scanners are fully operational and allow 2L liquids.

 

🇵🇱 Poland

Kraków (KRK) – 2L rule confirmed; no need to remove items.

 

Poznań (POZ) – Scanners active; rollout across all checkpoints nearly complete.

 

🇱🇹 Lithuania

Vilnius (VNO) – New scanners in use; 2L allowed.

 

Kaunas (KUN) – Same rule applies.

 

🇮🇹 Italy

Rome Fiumicino (FCO) – 2L allowance officially starts July 2025.

 

Milan Linate (LIN) – Fully upgraded; 2L allowed.

 

Milan Malpensa (MXP) – Terminal 1 only follows the 2L rule; Terminal 2 still mixed.

 

Bologna (BLQ) – 2L permitted; all lanes with new scanners.

 

Turin (TRN) – 2L only in Fast Track security lane for now.

 

🇲🇹 Malta

Malta International (MLA) – Officially allows liquids up to 2 litres with no need to remove or bag them.

 

🇩🇪 Germany (partially)

Frankfurt (FRA) – Several checkpoints already equipped with CT scanners; some lanes allow 2L, but rollout is ongoing.

 

🇷🇴 Romania

 

Cluj Napoca (CLJ) has implemented the 2 L rule from September 3, 2025 — yes, 2 L rule in effect

🇨🇿 Czech Republic

 

Prague (PRG T2): From 1 October 2025, Terminal 2 allows one additional liquid container over 100 ml, up to a total of 2 litres per person, in addition to the usual 1-litre bag with containers ≤ 100 ml. At security checkpoints equipped with CT X-ray scanners in Terminal 2, travelers no longer need to remove liquids or electronics from their carry-on.

🇩🇰 Denmark

Billund (BLL) — One of the first Danish airports to allow up to 2 litres of liquids in cabin bags. Passengers no longer need to remove liquids or electronics during screening.

 

What This Means for Travellers

You can bring your full-size toiletries and water bottles — no need for 100ml containers.

 

Laptops, tablets, and cameras can stay inside your bag.

 

Expect shorter queues and smoother security checks.

 

💡 Important: The rule only applies at airports equipped with the new scanners. On routes where the destination airport still uses old equipment, the 100ml rule may still apply on your return flight.

 

The Future of Airport Security in Europe

The European Union aims to equip all major airports with new C3 scanners by 2026, meaning the 100ml liquid rule will soon be history across most of Europe.

 

Until then, travellers flying from airports like Dublin, Kraków, or Malta can already enjoy one of the most convenient and traveller-friendly security experiences in the world.

Пълно мазало. Не мисля, че някой ще помни на кое летище какво правило е в сила в дадения момент и ще има доста изхвърлени течности. Докато цяла Европа не мине на новия стандарт ще продължавам да летя с максимум 1 л. течности в контейнери по 100 мл. за да си спестя главоболия.

За хората летящи от точка до точка ще е удобство..За пътувания хоп он / хоп офф не е съвсем ок все още.

Примерно Рим ( Фиумичино) - София не е ли удобство , знаейки че имаш право на 2 литра зехтин в ръчния багаж ?

Ами повечето хора не колекционират летища , мнозина редовно летят  по един и същ маршрут и т.н.

Всеки може да си провери преди да тръгне.

Сега е моментът от "Васил Левски" да обявят , че от Терминал 3 ще позволяват 3 ЛИТРА ТЕЧНОСТИ !

Не е само ваденето , a и за позволеното количество.По летищата в САЩ от години не се вадят , но ограничението от 100ml. за флакон си стои.

Добра възможност да си вземе човек две бутилки шотландска "ракийка", въпреки че и в магазаните на летището, учудващо или не, се намираше на прилични цени.

От няколко дни навсякъде се пише, че на доста евртопессйки летища, че може да се преминава с по 2л течности на човек.

За сега са 20-на летища, но се предполага, че много бързо ще се увеличи броят им. Аз отдавна чаках това да стане, че ми е тъжно, да не мога да си взема винца или други неща в ръчния багаж, както едно време.

За сега летищата са тези, но ще се увеличават. Може да добавяте постове в бъдеще, когато се появят нови летища без ограниченията от 100мл

Major change at Europe’s biggest hub: up to 2 litres of liquids allowed in hand luggage
Travelling through London Heathrow Airport just got a bit easier, especially if you’ve been frustrated by the old 100 ml liquids rule. Heathrow is quietly rolling out next-generation security scanners in some terminals that now allow passengers to carry liquids in containers up to 2 litres in their hand luggage, without having to remove them for security checks.

This follows similar rule changes at other European airports, where up to 2 litres of liquids are now allowed thanks to advanced scanning technology.

What’s New at Heathrow Security
Advanced CT (Computed Tomography) scanners are being gradually introduced at Heathrow’s security checkpoints. Where these machines are in operation:

You can keep liquids (in bottles up to 2 litres) inside your hand luggage.

There’s no need to pack them in small 100 ml bottles or separate plastic bags just for screening.

Electronics like laptops, tablets and phones may also stay inside your bag in many lanes equipped with the new scanners.

That means you could board with a full-size bottle of sunscreen, larger toiletries, or even bigger water bottles without having to check them in, at least in the security lanes where the new CT scanners are active.

However, this is only in some terminals or security lanes at Heathrow right now and not all lanes have the upgraded machines yet. So your experience can vary depending on where you go through security.

Important Notes Before You Fly
The new “up to 2 litres” rule is not fully airport-wide yet. It depends on whether the lane you’re directed to uses a CT scanner.

If you have a connection or return flight from an airport or terminal without the new scanners, the old 100 ml rule might still apply there. So always double-check security rules at each airport on your itinerary.

Heathrow’s security transition is part of a wider UK and European effort to modernise airport security, but rollout has taken longer than originally planned.

Края на миналата година си гледаха течностите както винаги.

На Гатуик преди 2 седмици ме пуснаха с 750мл шише с вода (видяха го и казаха, че не е проблем)

За вода все тая , хвърляш и продължаваш.Ако обаче си понесъл някакъв малцов елексир или скъп парфюм,  е добре да имаш 100% сигурност , че всички терминали са ок.

Лошото е, че нещо и сайта си са обновили, та не знам къде се сменя на английски 😜

Сега за Великден предлагат да спрат за 4-5 дни и да пуснат и двете платна.
