Цените на самолетните билети в Европа ще отбележат „най-голямото увеличение в историята“ през следващата година, заяви главният изпълнителен директор на „Райънеър“ (RyanAir) Майкъл О'Лиъри, цитиран от Ройтерс. Ryanair Announced 26 New Routes from Sicily, Birmingham and Alicante

Sicily: 17 New Routes from Three Airports

According to Ryanair, its winter 2026/2027 schedule for Sicily will be the airline’s largest ever on the island. It will include 88 routes, including 17 new ones, from three airports: Catania, Palermo and Trapani.

Catania will see the largest expansion, with nine new destinations:

• Alicante (Spain);
• Dublin (Ireland);
• Gdańsk (Poland);
• Memmingen (Germany);
• Porto (Portugal);
• Rimini (Italy);
• Valencia (Spain);
• Warsaw (Poland);
• Wrocław (Poland).

Flights to Dublin and Wrocław will be operated from March 2027.

Six new routes will be introduced from Palermo:

• Dublin (Ireland);
• Gdańsk (Poland);
• Parma (Italy);
• Prague (Czech Republic);
• Sofia (Bulgaria);
• Tirana (Albania).

Two additional domestic routes will be launched from Trapani–Marsala Airport, connecting it with Milan Malpensa and Verona.

To support the expanded network, Ryanair will base one additional aircraft at each of its Catania and Palermo bases. The airline will have a total of 11 aircraft based in Sicily, while its Trapani–Marsala base will remain operational throughout the winter season.

Birmingham: Five New Routes

Ryanair has also announced an expansion of its Birmingham base in the UK, where it will station a ninth aircraft.

Five new destinations will be added from Birmingham for the winter 2026/2027 season:

• Copenhagen (Denmark);
• Rome Fiumicino (Italy);
• Warsaw Modlin (Poland);
• Marrakech (Morocco);
• Tirana (Albania).

Ryanair will operate a total of 40 routes from Birmingham. The airline will also increase flight frequencies on seven existing routes, including services to Barcelona, Poznań and Budapest.

Alicante: Four New Routes to Italy and Germany

Ryanair has also announced an expansion at Spain’s Alicante–Elche Airport, from which it will operate 79 routes during the winter season.

The new destinations are:

• Catania (Italy) – five flights per week;
• Venice Marco Polo (Italy) – three flights per week;
• Friedrichshafen (Germany) – two flights per week;
• Saarbrücken (Germany) – two flights per week.

In addition, Ryanair will increase frequencies on 28 existing routes, including services to Lisbon, Rome, Kaunas, Pardubice and Poznań.

From late October 2026 to the end of March 2027, the airline will offer more than 3.3 million seats on flights to and from Alicante.
